Douglas Allyn Dunham, M.D./D.O., 81, of Bulger, Robinson Township, died Wednesday evening, February 28, 2018, in the comfort of his home, with his family at his side.

Born September 27, 1936, in Compton, Calif., he was the last surviving child born to the late James and Lenore Abbott Dunham. He was a retired family practice doctor with his office being in McDonald, serving the tri-state area. A retired Pennsylvania surgeon general, he was a retired veteran brigadier general serving in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Christine Dailey May Dunham; his children and their spouses, Richard and Tracie Dunham of Malaysia, Scott Dunham of Hickory and Melissa Dunham of Bridgeville; and his stepchildren, Michelle May of Hookstown and Michael and Ashley May of Oakdale. He was a beloved grandfather of six, Charlie Dunham, Lenny Dunham, Emily Dunham, Brenden May, Carson May and Kameron May.

Also left to cherish his memory is his beloved fur baby, Schotzie.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Moody Funeral Home, Route 30, Clinton, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, with Father Paul Merkovsky officiating.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made, if desired, to Catholic Hospice Group.
