Peter P. Pozonsky

Peter P. Pozonsky, 88, of Muse, passed away peacefully at 6:42 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, in his home.

He was born July 12, 1929, in Brownsville, a son of the late Michael and Ann Sichko Pozonsky.

Mr. Pozonsky lived his life in Muse and was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an usher at the 11 a.m. Mass for many years.

He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Air Force.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed at McGraw Edison Power Systems in Canonsburg.

Mr. Pozonsky was a life member of Cecil Township Volunteer Fire Department No. 2 in Muse, Muse Independent Club and American Legion Post 902 in Houston. He was an avid hunter.

On October 21, 1950, he married Ann DiBattista, who survives after 67 years of marriage.

Also left behind to cherish his memory are his three children, Paul M. Pozonsky (Karen Herdman) of Muse, Rosemary Benjamin and husband Mike of Lafayette, Ind., and Patricia Ann Fiscus and husband Scott of Champagne, Ill.; two sisters, Dolores Cox of Muse and Mary Geraldine O’Connor and husband Steven of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Michael Pozonsky and wife Mary of Canonsburg and Robert Pozonsky and wife Nancy of Muse; seven grandchildren, Janelle (Michael) Kaiser, Kira (Matthew) Schwartz, Zachary (Chantelle) Fiscus, Landon Scott, Adrian Retting, Lauren Fiscus and Alexis Pozonsky; five great-grandchildren, Lilah Ann and Collette Fiscus and Paxton, Adalyn and Roman Retting; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, and Darla Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 27. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Muse, with the Rev. George T. DeVille, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township, with full military honors by Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 191 and U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Muse Volunteer Fire Department will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
