Escape charge: Chloe Ellen Jones, 22, of 533 Green Valley Road, Wind Ridge, was charged with escape, false identification to an officer and three summary driving violations. State police were driving behind Jones on Route 188 in Jefferson Township about 11 p.m. Tuesday when troopers said they saw Jones swerve several times and quickly accelerate. During the traffic stop, police said Jones first gave them her sister’s name, but they eventually confirmed that she had a warrant for her arrest out of Washington County. Jones reportedly told police she needed to use the restroom, and the officer said she could “go behind the truck if she had to,” the criminal complaint said. Police said she started to run but was caught after a short chase.

Fleeing charges: Stacy Ann Demaske, 28, of 1447 Main St., Jefferson, was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, driving while intoxicated and 23 summary driving violations after state police received a report of an erratic driver on Interstate 79 about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The driver exited onto Route 221 at Ruff Creek, and when police realized the registration was expired and the plate did not match the car, they attempted to pull over Demaske. Police said she swerved into oncoming traffic and continued for about four miles before pulling into a parking lot near Green Valley Road in Washington Township. Police said Demaske could not provide any identification or paperwork for the vehicle. She allegedly told police she took methadone before driving. Police said she failed a field sobriety test and refused a chemical test.
