Edward J. Bogucki
Edward J. “Butch” Bogucki, 72, of Carmichaels, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in his home.
He was born Tuesday, October 30, 1945, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Edward S. Bogucki and Julie M. Katusa Bogucki.
Mr. Bogucki was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Waynesburg.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Bogucki was a member of American Legion Brooks/Crago Post 816, Rices Landing. He was a member and past board member of Greene County Country Club.
He enjoyed golf, Alabama football and Miller Lite.
Mr. Bogucki worked for Robena Mine and later for Dilworth Consol Mine as an assistant mine foreman, retiring in 2002. In 2004, he became founder and president of Mining Safety Training Plus LLC, which is still in operation today.
Surviving is his wife, Karen Headlee Bogucki, with whom he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in February.
Also surviving are two sons, Joseph E. Bogucki and wife Candice of Carmichaels and Justin E. Bogucki of Carmichaels; four grandchildren, Jordan, Josh, Halee and Garrett; a brother, Michael J. Bogucki and wife Georgiann of North Port, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Doreen Moore.
There will be a greeting of friends from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the time of a prayer service, Wednesday, March 21, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 232 East High Street, Waynesburg, with Father Francis Frazier, Father Dan Valentine and Father Don Breier as celebrants. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Greene County Salvation Army, 131 West First Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
