BLAINE

Assault, threats alleged: George Paul Locy, 27, of North Alley Road, Taylorstown, was charged Thursday by state police with four counts each of simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct stemming from a March 7 confrontation over dead chickens in his yard. Locy is accused of pointing a shotgun at neighbors on Taylorstown Ridge Road, Blaine, and threatening to shoot them. Locy denied pointing the gun. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.

CALIFORNIA

Assault arrest: Vishon Elijah Jones, 20, of Washington, D.C., was arrested Wednesday by California University of Pennsylvania police on charges of strangulation, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief after he allegedly assaulted a student in her dormitory room at Smith Hall, 420 Hickory St. He is accused of putting his hands around her neck and shoving her against a wall. Jones also allegedly broke her iPhone. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $15,000 bond.

MARIANNA

Burglary arrest: Michael A. Dean, 30, of 784 Hopkins Run Road, Sycamore, was arrested on a warrant obtained by state police charging him with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He is accused of breaking into the home of his ex-girlfriend in the 400 block of Third Street, Marianna, Sept. 13. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.

MT. PLEASANT

DUI alleged in crash: Jeremy Lawrence Newman, 26, of 44 Main St., Atlasburg, was charged this week by Mt. Pleasant police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, accidents involving unattended property, failure to render aid, careless and reckless driving and other traffic violations after he allegedly crashed into a fence Feb. 28 in the 1100 block of Burgettstown Road. Police said he fled from the vehicle and was found about a half-mile down the road. Blood was drawn, and it was determined he had methamphetamine in his system, police said.

WASHINGTON

Terroristic threats charge: Lewis F. Shuman III, 26, of Canonsburg was arraigned Thursday on charges of terroristic threats and harassment. City police filed charges Feb. 22 in connection with a threatening message Shuman allegedly sent to a person on Facebook four days earlier. Court records show Shuman was placed in Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond set by District Judge Robert Redlinger.
