CALIFORNIA

Two charged: Antjwon Carter, 19, of Reading, and Daniel James Wilson, 20, of Valencia, were charged this week by California police with underage drinking and public drunknenness stemming from an April 1 incident at the intersection of Sixth and Hickory streets. Wilson also was charged with possession of paraphernalia after he was found with several pipes, police said.

CANONSBURG

Bus, vehicle collide: No injuries were reported Thursday morning when a Canon-McMillan School District bus backed into a vehicle on North Central Avenue near Canonsburg Middle School. Canonsburg police said the bus, driven by Leonard Bennett Jr., 64, of Canonsburg, backed up while approaching the bus loop and hit a vehicle driven by Baylee Smith, 18, of Cecil. Six students were on the bus and were checked by the school nurse as part of the district’s protocol.

CECIL

Granddaughter charged: Sarah Lynn Severns, 27, of 139 Karmann Road, Canonsburg, was charged last week by Cecil police with simple assault, robbery and two counts of theft. She is accused of grabbing and pushing her grandmother before stealing her credit card and vehicle during a March 25 incident at their home. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.

MONESSEN

Man charged: City police charged Dairon M. Pearson, 21, of 10th Street, with simple assault and theft. Police filed the charges after officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Highland Avenue March 30. Police said in court papers Pearson allegedly pushed a woman into a closet and bit her on her forearm. He allegedly fled, taking an Xbox, as police arrived. Charges were sent by summons from District Judge Joseph Dalfonso’s office Wednesday.

NEW EAGLE

Theft alleged: William A. Bautz, 44, of 419 Broadway St., New Eagle, is charged by Monongahela police with theft and bad checks over allegations he paid for $2,616 worth of car repairs at Behanna Auto & Tire, 189 Main St., with checks that bounced in late 2017, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges Wednesday in a summons.

NORTH BELLE VERNON

Man jailed: Borough police charged Franswal W. Rice, 49, of Castner Avenue, Donora, with terroristic threats, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness. Police said in court papers that Rice allegedly threatened to kill an employee at Wide Glides Bar on Broad Avenue before an officer spotted him yelling and using obscenities in a dispute outside the bar early Sunday morning. He allegedly wasn’t cooperative as police arrested him. Rice was arraigned before District Judge Charles Christner and placed in Westmoreland County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Assault charge: David W. Scheller II, 39, of Pittsburgh, was charged with simple assault and harassment in connection with a March 17 incident at Wide Glides Bar on Broad Avenue. Scheller’s ex-wife reportedly told police he had punched her, knocking her to the ground, shortly before she called 911. Charges were sent by summons Tuesday from District Judge Charles Christner’s office.

Restaurant cited: The owner of Baic Restaurant, 1867 Smith Township Road, was cited this week by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for furnishing alcohol to a minor last September.

WASHINGTON

Aggravated assault: Maceo V. Williams, 40, of 999 E. Maiden St., Washington, was charged by Washington police with aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault, false imprisonment and harassment after he allegedly dragged a woman by her hair early Wednesday morning at a residence in the 100 block of Elm Street. The victim told police she and Williams had argued Monday, when Williams started punching her in the head and cursing at her. Police said Williams took her phone that night, locked the door of the house and pushed a couch in front of it to block the victim’s exit. The victim told police that Williams continued punching her all night. According to the criminal complaint, the couple separated “for some time.” About 1:55 a.m. Wednesday, they were sitting in a car outside the Elm Street house, when Williams grabbed her by the hair and smashed her face into the steering wheel multiple times, police said. He then grabbed her by the throat and pushed her into the seat, the complaint said. The victim told police that she couldn’t breathe and was close to passing out when she was able to break free and run from the car. Williams allegedly chased her down, knocked her down and tried to drag her by her hair to the house while she held onto a fence, police said. She told police that she broke free again, but when Williams saw she was calling 911, he allegedlythrew the car keys at her and fled the scene, the complaint said. The charges were sent to Williams by summons.

Disorderly conduct: Jessie Clendenen, 33, of 23 Honor St., Coal Center, was charged by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with disorderly conduct and terroristic threats after he allegedly made a scene at the Washington County Courthouse Wednesday morning. Deputies said that while in court, inmate Clendenen kept talking during proceedings and using obscene language in the hallways. He also allegedly threatened a deputy several times, stating he “would bash his head in with a baseball bat once released from jail,” the criminal complaint said.

Harassment alleged: Donald Mainer, 32, of 143 S. College St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with harassment after he allegedly grabbed his former girlfriend during an argument early Thursday at his home.
