Belle Vernon scored the only run of the game Saturday on a double from Jordan French in the third inning to defeat South Fayette, 1-0, in Section 2-AAAA.
Leopards pitcher Bailey Parshall held the one-run lead for the remainder of the game, giving up only two hits while striking out 13. Parshall also had four hits for Belle Vernon (3-2, 5-2). Marg Iagnemma and Aliya Schrader singled for South Fayette (1-3, 3-5).
