Everettville Historical Association, Morgantown, W.Va., will host the 10th annual Miners Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Sunday for miners killed at Federal Mine No. 3.
More than 149 miners died at that operation, including 111 during the mine disaster April 30, 1927, and 38 in individual accidents from 1920 to 1951, when the mine closed.
The service will be at the Memorial on Pickhandle Road in Everettville, Monongalia County, near the Friendship Baptist Church.
