Helen DeStefano

Helen DeStefano, 95, of Washington, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013.

She was born November 4, 1917, in Washington, a daughter of the late Alexander and Stella Czemerowska Kruczek.

Mrs. DeStefano was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church.

For many years, she was employed by Drakenfield as a lab technician until her retirement.

Mrs. DeStefano was married to Samuel DeStefano, who died in June 1945.

Surviving are a son, Jerry (Sandy) DeStefano of Missouri; two sisters, Laura Sapp of Florida and Josephine Balent of Washington; two grandchildren, Erin (Chris) Shocklee of Missouri and Eric (Heather) DeStefano of Minnesota; four great-grandchildren, Ian and Charles Shocklee and Devon and Allison DeStefano; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Edward Kruczek and a brother who died in infancy and two sisters, Joanne Mikuta and Victoria Kruczek, who died at a younger age.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where a prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery, South Strabane Township. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
