Ruth McElroy Patterson, 81, of Waynesburg, died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.
She was born Sunday, May 24, 1931, in Spraggs, a daughter of the late Henry Lee and Mildred Moore McElroy.
Mrs. Patterson attended Fairall United Methodist Church, Waynesburg.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose 888 in Waynesburg.
Mrs. Patterson enjoyed reading, bingo and crocheting.
She worked as a seamstress for Greeneway Manufacturing in Waynesburg. Mrs. Patterson also worked as a baby sitter and did house cleaning. At one time, she did the cleaning at Waynesburg Elks Club.
Her husband, William F. Patterson, died April 17, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen P. Eisiminger of Waynesburg and Linda P. “Sis” (Randy) Moore of Waynesburg; a son, James F.(Lori) Patterson of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Brian Eisiminger, Betsy Hawfield, William Moore, Adam Moore and Kurtis Patterson; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna J. Johnson of Washington and Blanche Knabenshue of Weirton, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Ida McElroy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, with the Rev. Ronald Geisler officiating.
