Jennie Sophie Harrold
Jennie Sophie Harrold, 91, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, July 8, 2018, in Longview Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 5, 1927, in Naomi, Fayette County, a daughter of Joseph B. Barnot and Stella Gwizdak Barnot.
Mrs. Harrold graduated from Marion High School, where she was the Class of 1945’s valedictorian. She was a homemaker and worked as a sales clerk.
When living in Washington, Mrs. Harrold was a member of Friendship Community Church.
She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Elvis Presley, and she enjoyed playing bingo.
On June 15, 1946, she married Glenn M. Harrold, who died August 7, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Leslie G. (Deborah) Harrold of Longview and Richard A. (Lois) Harrold of Wheeling, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Chad Harrold, Shane Harrold and Juliet Redinger; and five great-grandchildren, Savannah, Callista, Lilly and Liam Harrold and Aubrey Ana Redinger.
Deceased are a sister, Josephine Plewniak, and three brothers, John, Andrew and Stephen Barnot.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, in the chapel of Belle Vernon Cemetery, 176 Tranquility Lane, Belle Vernon, PA 15102, with Monsignor Frederick P. Annie, vicar general of Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, officiating.
