Construction zone crash: No one was injured when a vehicle rear-ended a truck in a construction zone Friday. Michael A. Adamson, 28, of Jefferson, was driving east in the right lane of Route 21 approaching a construction zone just east of Rock Hill Road in Center Township just after 5 p.m. Blake M. Dickey, 20, of McMurray, was stopped at the flagger of the construction zone. Adamson did not stop and rear-ended Dickey. Adamson was cited for following too closely.
FRANKLIN
Two injured in motorcycle crash: Two people were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital after a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon. State police responded to Route 21 at Elm Drive in Franklin Township at 1:48 p.m. Motorcyclist Elmer J Berish, 67, of Coal Center, was driving west on Route 21. Rachel E. Bradmon, 16, of Rices Landing, was on Elm Drive headed across Route 21 in a sedan that struck Berish. Both Berish and passenger Brenda J. Kerik, 61, of Coal Center, were thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway. Berish and Kerik were both taken to Ruby for their injuries. The crash release from state police indicates Berish was not wearing a helmet, but Kerik was. Neither Bradmon nor her passenger, Rebecca Bradmon, 18, of Rices Landing, were injured. Berish was cited for failure to stop at a red light.
