Single-vehicle crash: A tractor-trailer crashed into a support beam in the drive-through at Ross Beverage, 173 E. Pike St., while trying to make a delivery a little before 8 a.m. Wednesday. The truck driver reportedly told police a colleague informed him the truck would be able to clear the drive-through area. The truck was able to pass under the first overhead support beam but not the second. The driver also said he didn’t spot the sign warning of a 12-foot clearance limit. The truck’s height was 13 feet, 6 inches. No injuries were reported, but the store’s website said it was closed that day and again Thursday because of structural damage.
