Harry Edwin Drew, 92, of Greensboro, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, in Divine Healing Personal Care Home, Masontown.
Born January 24, 1926, near Point Marion, he was a son of the late Harry Edward and Laura Gray Drew.
A 1944 graduate of Point Marion High School, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in both the European and Pacific theaters.
He was a retired coal miner from Duquesne Light in Greensboro, having worked for more than 43 years.
Harry was a member of Mapletown United Methodist Church and United Mine Workers of America Local 6310. He was a former longtime member of Greensboro Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Harry A. and Rebecca Drew of Greensboro, Keith and Susan Drew of Mapletown and Gary and Joyce Drew of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Lincoln of Point Marion.
Deceased are his first wife, Dorothy Miller Drew; his second wife, Betty Barnes Drew; a grandson, Harry; a great-grandson, Michael; and a sister, Mrs. Ed (Delores “Dot”) Chipps.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Monday, July 16, in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, with Pastor Nelson Boone officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro.
