Pinch-hitter Andrew Knapp hit a game-ending homer just inside the right field foul pole in the 13th inning as the Philadelphia Phillies came from behind to beat the Washington Nationals 4-3 Sunday.

Knapp ended the game when he turned on a Justin Miller fastball and lofted it into the bleachers in right field. Miller (5-1) gave up the run in 11/3 innings of work.

Nick Pivetta (5-7) got the win pitching a scoreless inning.

Washington jumped out early, scoring an unearned run in the fourth on an Anthony Rendon sacrifice fly. In the fifth, the lead expanded to 3-0 when Adam Eaton singled to right to score Daniel Murphy and Mark Reynolds.

However, Gio Gonzalez labored in the bottom of the fifth after cruising through the first four innings with only one hit and one walk allowed.

Reds 8, Brewers 2: Jose Peraza kept up Cincinnati’s parade of grand slams, sending Matt Harvey and the Reds over the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers 8-2.

Peraza connected in the sixth inning for the Reds’ ninth slam this year, tying the single-season franchise record set in 2002. It was Cincinnati’s second in two games and third in the last eight – pitcher Mike Lorenzen had a pinch-hit slam Saturday, and pitcher Anthony DeSclafani went deep with the bases loaded on June 24 against the Cubs.

Braves 6, Cardinals 5: Mike Foltynewicz tossed five shutout innings and Freddie Freeman homered as the Atlanta Braves held off the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5.

Giants 9, Diamondbacks 6: Brandon Belt and Joe Panik drove in two runs each and Hunter Pence delivered a pinch-hit, two-run double, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 9-6 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks and a sweep of the weekend’s three-game series.

Cubs 11, Twins 10: Jon Lester hit a three-run homer that highlighted an eight-run burst in the second inning and wound up with his NL-leading 11th win as the Chicago Cubs held off the Minnesota Twins 11-10.

Rays 3, Astros 2: Blake Snell struck out 10, reliever Diego Castillo fanned Jose Altuve in a key spot and the Tampa Bay Rays wrapped up an impressive homestand by beating the Houston Astros 3-2.
