Two women were injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Washington Road (Route 19) and Manifold Road in South Strabane Township.

Witnesses told Officer Seth Kelley that a sport utility vehicle being driven south on Route 19 about 10:18 a.m. by Lien Thi Bich Tran of Washington went through a red light, hitting a car driven by Rebecca Manholan of Venetia, who was coming off Manifold. The impact caused Manholan’s car to flip on its side.

Both drivers were taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. A passenger in Tran’s vehicle was not injured.

Traffic at the intersection of Route 19, Manifold and Cameron roads was restricted as the wreckage was removed. Assisting at the scene were East Washington police and South Strabane firefighters.
