Rose Theresa Lowery
Rose Theresa Lowery, 99, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Canonsburg, died Saturday, July 7, 2018.
She was born June 27, 1919, in Chickasaw, a daughter of Giachino and Margaret Castelli Selva.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone Co. and subsequently Western Center.
She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Canonsburg, where she was a member of Christian Mothers Guild. She was also a devoted volunteer in the blood drives and summer festivals held at the church. In her spare time, she was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and canning.
Surviving are her son, Dennis W. Lowery of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; daughter Donna J. (Michael D.) Roach of Fort Myers; two grandchildren, Paul M. Roach and Sarah E. Roach; two sisters-in-law, Mary DiBattista Selva and Betty Lowery; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, deceased are her husband, Arthur W. Lowery, who died April 16, 2003; brothers Raymond, Renato and Premo Selva and Paul and Raymond Battista; and sisters Catherine Selva Thomas and Elaine Battista Basso.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. Departing prayers will be said at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 14, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m., in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Peters Township.
