Devoted wife and mother adored her grandchildren
Mary A. Fragapane Sendro, 82, of Washington, died Monday, May 27, 2013, in Washington.
She was born March 9, 1931, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Vincent and Teresa Fragapane.
Mrs. Sendro was a graduate of Canonsburg High School, Class of 1949.
She was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, where she was an active member of its Christian Mothers and St. Hilary Prayer Group.
Mrs. Sendro enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed the company of many friends throughout her life.
She was a devoted wife to her husband and mother to her children. She adored her grandchildren and eagerly anticipated their visits.
For many years, she was employed by Trinity Area School District as a cafeteria server.
On June 11, 1955, in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg, she married Paul J. Sendro, who died January 4, 2007.
Surviving are a daughter, Terri Sendro Samila (Dale Hartley) of Washington; two sons, Paul J. (Dana) Sendro of Flemington, N.J., and Daniel V. (Lori) Sendro of Greensburg; sister Virginia Levers of Holly, Mich.; two brothers, Sam (Rosalie) Fragapane of Canonsburg and Carmen (Carol) Fragapane of Williamsburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Elaina Rae, Ryan Daniel, Paul J. and Alexa H. Sendro; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sendro received compassionate and caring support during her brief stay at Strabane Woods Assisted Living Center, South Strabane Township.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, 320 Henderson Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Thomas D. O’Neil as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. Condolences may be left at www.deangelofuneralhome.com.
