July slots revenue dips slightly at Meadows, across state
Gross revenue from slot machine play at Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos last month was down 2.62 percent from July 2017, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported Thursday.
Seven venues posted decreases last month, including Meadows Racetrack & Casino, which experienced a 3.02 percent dip. The North Strabane Township facility pulled in $18,888,431.16 in July revenue, down from $19,476,069.97 one year earlier.
Gross revenue statewide was $203,643,985.78 last month, down from $209,124,965.58 over the year.
Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Side, had a marginal 0.38 percent gain ($24,403,665.47 from $24,310,386.13). Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, saw its revenue drop 6.15 percent from the previous July — to $2,665,832.62 from $2,840,513.95.
Slots play last month resulted in $106,153,882 in tax revenue.
An average of 25,641 slot machines operated statewide in July, up from 25,584 the previous year.
