James Joseph “Grizz” Rozanc, 55, of West Alexander, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 11, 2018, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born April 18, 1963, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James Andrew Rozanc and Joy Ann Koblak Elmer Heaps of Bethel Park.

Mr. Rozanc was a graduate of Canon McMillan High School. At the time of his death, he was employed at Washington Ford in the service and parts department.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Canonsburg. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson, enjoyed playing the drums and singing karaoke. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed.

On April 30, 2017, in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, he married Mary Anne Sawczak, who survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Marnie (John) Fitzgerald of Florida; three brothers, J.P. (Shari) Rozanc of Florida, Chris (Jenn) Rozanc of Texas and Scott Rozanc of Texas; stepmother Maggie Rozanc of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Marie Rozanc, and paternal grandparents John C. and Marie Rozanc.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A parastas service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 16, in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Canonsburg, with the Rev. R. Joseph Raptosh officiating. Interment will be private.
