Chartiers Township fire claims two lives
A second person has died in a Pittsburgh hospital after being injured in a fire Friday in Chartiers Township.
Saundra McLaughlin, 62, died at 3:22 p.m. Sunday in West Penn Hospital after she was found in her yard while her mobile home in the township’s Meadow Lands section was engulfed in flames, a spokeswoman for the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office confirmed.
Glenn McLaughlin, 66, who also lived in the home, died Saturday in the same hospital.
A township fire official said two others lived in the home at 335½ Ewing St., but they were not there when the fire broke out about 1:15 p.m.
The relationship between the McLaughlins was not immediately known Sunday.
The cause and manner of Saundra McLaughlin’s death remains under investigation.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the state police fire marshal.
