Canton teen robbed at gunpoint in Washington
A Canton Township teenager told Washington police he was robbed at gunpoint after being stopped while driving on Allison Avenue Sunday night.
Police were called to a convenience store on Henderson Avenue, where they met the teen and his mother. The 17-year-old told police he was driving on Allison near Orchard Avenue in the area of Washington High School about 9 p.m. when a man jumped out in front of his vehicle.
He said the black man wore a black bandana with white on it covering his face. The robber also wore a skullcap and black sweatshirt. The robber put the teen in a headlock and pressed what he believed was a small-caliber weapon against his head. He reportedly told the teenager to “do everything I tell you to do.”
Another man showed a flashlight inside the passenger side of the vehicle. The teen described him as wearing a red sweatshirt.
The 17-year-old said his iPhone and a Tommy Hilfiger bag were stolen from his vehicle. Both robbers ran down Orchard. The teen also told police the robbers were tall with a medium build.
