Ronald L. Butera, 74, of Washington, died Sunday, August 5, 2018, in his home.

He was born March 20, 1944, in New Kensington, a son of the late Charles Hugh Butera and Kathryn Lea Buchner.

A graduate of Washington High School, Mr. Butera retired after working as a coal miner for 35 years.

On April 24, 1965, he married Letitia M. Swan, who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Charles Ronald (fiancée Nancy Parr) Butera of Wellsburg, W.Va., Tracy L. (John) Markle of Hampton, Va., and Anthony M. Butera of Washington; seven grandchildren, Matthew J. (Ashley) Markle, Tyler J. (Melinda) Markle, Kyle Butera, Regan K. Butera, Eraca L. Butera, Kyleigh Parr and Shyann Parr; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kaylynn, Madalynn and Ashlynn Markle and Ava Kinley.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 9. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
