AMWELL
Truck burns: Myron G. Zimmerman, 70, of West Virginia, escaped injury when his tractor-trailer went off Interstate 79 in Amwell about 7:10 p.m. Monday and caught fire. State police said a tire blew on his rig. The tractor-trailer went off the shoulder of the highway and down an embankment before catching fire. Zimmerman was able to get out of the rig. Police said he had minor injuries.
BUFFALO
Strangulation, assault charges: Bruce W. Debee, 41, of 3934 S Bridge Road, was charged Wednesday by Donegal police with aggravated and simple assault, strangulation, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and unlawful restraint after he allegedly assaulted and choked his 28-year-old girlfriend Sept. 14 at his Buffalo home. He also allegedly grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back inside the trailer. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Gun permit violation alleged: Lonnie Joe Bowers, 47, of 231 Key Ave., Washington, was charged Wednesday by state police with illegal sale or transfer of a firearm and unsworn falsification after he allegedly put incorrect information on an application to purchase a firearm earlier this year at ARH Sport Shop, 4174 Route 40, Buffalo. The charges will be sent by the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Assault alleged: Chelsea Lynn Lampe, 26, of Washington, was charged Monday by Donegal police with simple assault and harassment after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend during a confrontation at 66 Haines Road, Buffalo, Sept. 15. Her boyfriend, Jarod Zerkle, was arrested that day on assault charges by township police. The charges against Lampe were filed at the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Driver charged: Lance E. Redd, 20, of 144 Beagle Club Road, Washington, was charged this week by Donegal police with minor driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a crash. Redd allegedly crashed into a fence in the 200 block of Rural Valley Road June 30, doing more than $4,000 in damage. Police said his blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.02 percent level at which intoxication is presumed for minors. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Charged in crash: Patrick Lee Starr, 21, of 41 First St., Taylorstown, was charged this week by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol and several traffic violations stemming from a two-vehicle crash Sept. 12 on Interstate 70 westbound near the Taylorstown exit, Buffalo. Police said he failed field-sobriety tests and refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
BURGETTSTOWN
Sales to minors alleged: The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Blue Devil Distribution, 1809 Main St., Burgettstown, Friday for allegedly selling or furnishing an alcoholic beverage to a 19-year-old Aug. 16.
CANONSBURG
Two charged: Dwayne Charles Adams, 43, and Virginia Gale Smith, 36, both of 354 Ross Road, Eighty Four, were charged this week by Canonsburg police in connection with a March 12 incident at a home in the 500 block of Giffin Avenue. Adams is charged with possession of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and paraphernalia and driving under suspension. Smith is charged with possession of paraphernalia and false identification after allegedly giving police an incorrect name and birth date. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Assault charge: Frank Caliguiri, 48, of Coraopolis, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly punched and kicked a man in a parking lot at 342 W. Pike St. June 29. The charges were sent by summons by District Judge David Mark.
CLAYSVILLE
Receiving charge: Ronald M. Stimpson Jr., 30, of 615 S. School St., Claysville, was charged Wednesday by Donegal police with receiving stolen property after he allegedly was found with a golf cart that had been reported stolen. Police said the owner of the cart loaned it to the West Alexander Fair Board, and when he went to retrieve it, it was gone. Stimpson reportedly told police a friend brought it to his house. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Drug possession charge: Jason B. Smith, 43, of 75 E. Walnut St., Washington, was charged Wednesday by Donegal police with possession of a controlled substance after he allegedly was found Sept. 19 with Xanax that had not been prescribed to him. Police said he was in a parking lot at 1133 Route 40 when he was found with the drug. He allegedly told police he purchased the pills from a person in Moundsville, W.Va. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
DONEGAL
Paraphernalia charge: Ashley M. Richey, 27, of 111 Highland Ave., Donegal, was charged Wednesday by Donegal police with possession of paraphernalia after she allegedly was found with suspected drug paraphernalia when police went with Washington County sheriff’s deputies to pick her up on a warrant Sept. 18. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Driver charged: Marcus Anthony Cimino, 47, of 216 Sugar Run Road, Avella, was charged this week by Donegal police with driving under the influence of alcohol and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage after police say he crashed his pickup truck into a ditch in the 800 block of Old Brick Road, Donegal, Friday. Police received a report about the crash and were told the driver was standing outside his truck holding a can of beer. Police said Cimino’s blood-alcohol content was almost three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
NORTH FRANKLIN
Fights at concert: North Franklin police were called to two fights at the Eli Young Band concert Saturday night at Consol Energy Park. In the first fight, reported about 7:40 p.m., a 29-year-old Washington man is accused of assaulting a 19-year-old Washington woman and two men from West Virginia. In the second fight, reported about 9:30 p.m., a 26-year-old California woman was assaulted by other women. Police are continuing their investigation into both incidents, and charges are pending.
Driver faces charges: Eric M. Dempsey, 29, of 6 Presock Lane, Washington, will be charged by North Franklin police with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license after he allegedly crashed the vehicle he was driving into a utility pole in the 300 block of Scenic Drive about 5:35 p.m. Tuesday. Police said his blood-alcohol content was more than three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed.
WASHINGTON
Trespass, disorderly charges: Jeana Jones, 18, of 95 Harps Ave., Washington, was charged by Washington police with harassment and disorderly conduct after she allegedly beat on the door of a Washington home early Wednesday.
Harassment alleged: Jeffrey Watts, 24, of 560 1/2 E. Maiden St., Washington, was charged by Washington police with harassment after he allegedly grabbed a 24-year-old Washington woman by the arms during a confrontation at her home Tuesday.
Burglary reported: Anthony Musto of 151 Springfield Ave. told Washington police Tuesday two DeWalt power tools and two cordless weed trimmers were stolen from his residence Monday. The weed trimmers were later recovered.
Copper pipe stolen: Kristie McMasters of Washington told Washington police copper pipe was stolen from a house in the 600 block of Penn Avenue. A witness saw a man and woman leaving the house with the pipe.
