Waynesburg Lions Club selects students of month
WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Central High School seniors Emily Snee and William Ziefel have been selected as Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for April.
Snee, daughter of Emerson and Marci Snee, Waynesburg, maintains a 3.98 grade-point average.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, letterman’s club, SADD, Italian club, library service club, TV workshop club and Penn Serve. She also is a member of the varsity softball and volleyball teams.
Snee received academic awards in physics, AP language, AP history and Italian. She also received the Centennial Chevrolet Fall Scholar/Athlete Spotlight Award.
Outside of school, she is a member of Pittsburgh Power traveling softball team for 18-year-olds and under, volunteers for 12 and under and 16 and under softball teams and also volunteers at the Golden Living Center.
Snee plans to attend Coastal Carolina University and major in sports and exercise science or physics.
Ziefel, son of Bill and Mary Ziefel of Waynesburg, maintains a 3.9 grade-point average.
He is vice president of the National Honor Society, president of the varsity club, president of SADD and a member of the Spanish club, ski club, student council, Penn Serve and office work.
He also is a four-year letterman in baseball, and a two-year letterman in football and baseball, serving as captain of the football, basketball and baseball teams.
Outside of school, he volunteers at nursing homes and is active in the Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
Ziefel plans to attend Penn State University’s main campus and major in engineering.
