Margaret Y. Yerga Piergalski

Margaret Y. Yerga Piergalski, 97, of Uniontown, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018, in her home in Beechwood Court, Uniontown.

She was born July 2, 1921, in Monessen, a daughter of the late John Yerga Sr. and Judith Matejka Yerga of Monessen.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Frank Piergalski; brother John Yerga Jr.; and sisters Amelia “Molly” Bezuska, Julia Helde and Helen Sullivan.

Margaret was a graduate of Monessen High School. During World War II, Margaret supported the country’s efforts as a factory worker, making gas masks. She was a member of Southwestern Pennsylvania Teamsters and had worked as a dispatcher for Quinn Freight Lines in Perryopolis.

She loved pets and playing cards and enjoyed traveling in the mountains. Margaret lived life on her own terms.

Left to cherish Margaret’s memory are her niece, Frances K. Williams and husband John “Jack” of Summerville; nephew Charles “Buster” Helde and daughter Courtney of Pittsfield, Mass.; and great-nieces Michelle L. Vensel and husband Ron Kirkpatrick of Mars and Kirsten L. Thayer and husband Mike of Woodland Hills, Calif., and their children, Patrick and Jackson.

At the family’s request, services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home, 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown.
