Mary Agnes Moss
Mary Agnes Moss, 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
She was born March 14, 1920, in Fayette City, a daughter of the late John and Grace Hamer Rodgers.
On April 8, 1941, in Canonsburg, she was married to Vassar “Pete” Young Moss Jr., M.D., who is deceased.
Surviving are her children, John Lawrence (Leigh) Moss and William Foster (Donna) Moss; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Stein, and three siblings, Joseph T. Rodgers, John “Jack” Rodgers and Margaret Ann Rodgers Baeslack.
Agnes was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church since 1955. She was a member of P.E.O. and Women’s Club of Wilkinsburg and was a nurse at Magee Women’s Hospital during World War II. Her love of books has been an inspiration to all.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 29, in Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
