Ty R. McCloskey, 23, of Scenery Hill, died Thursday, October 4, 2018, from injuries sustained in a work accident.
He was born December 13, 1994, in Pittsburgh, a son of Joe and Judy Holdsworth McCloskey of Scenery Hill.
Ty was a 2013 graduate of Bentworth High School and was a semester away from receiving a bachelor’s degree in energy and resource management from West Virginia University.
Pursuing experience in his field of studies, he was employed by Shaft Drillers International, North American Directional Drilling division, where he was currently working on a Cambria County drilling site.
Ty was a well-rounded, hard-working person who enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, especially the family farm and animals, but most of all loved his family, the occasional good movie and spending time at Bentleyville Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his brother, Zack McCloskey of Scenery Hill; maternal grandmother Sarah Holdsworth of Eighty Four; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received from 1 to 6 p.m., the hour of services, Tuesday, October 9, in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, with the Rev. Paul Peternel officiating. Interment will be private.
