Boys soccer

Cam Frolo and Zach Evans each had a hat trick as Monessen routed Jeannette, 15-0, Wednesday in a non-section match.

Dishon Howell scored a pair of goals for the Greyhounds (9-4-2).

Monessen goalkeepers Nathan Lynch and Jack Sacco combined for the shutout.

Girls soccer

Brownsville defeated Bentworth 7-4 in a nonsection battle of playoff-bound teams on the final day of the regular season.

Jacelyn Timlin scored two goals for Bentworth (14-2), which had its 12-match winning streak snapped by Brownsville (13-4).

Paige Marshalek and Lindsay Davis each scored one goal for the Bearcats.

  • Julia LaLama scored two goals to lead Mt. Lebanon to a 3-1 victory over host South Fayette in a nonsection game. Helina Van Bibber scored for South Fayette (9-6-1) late in the first half.
  • In a non-section match between a pair of teams not going to the playoffs, Monessen and Jeannette battled to a tie after two overtimes, 1-1. Monessen’s Sydney Caterino extended the game into overtime when she netted a goal with 51.1 seconds left.

Women’s soccer

Washington & Jefferson scored two goals in each half Wednesday and defeated Saint Vincent 4-1 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

The four goals are the season high or W&J (3-2, 6-7-2). Julie Halula and Katie Hahn scored in the first half to give the Presidents a 2-0 lead. After Saint Vincent scored late in the first half to cut the W&J lead in half, Hannah Johnston and Chandler Marteeny each scored during a 16-minute stretch of the second half.

Men’s soccer

Jake Fetterman, Matt Kotkiewicz and Thomas Einolf each scored in the first half to propel Washington & Jefferson to a 3-1 victory over Saint Vincent in a PAC match Wednesday. The win moved W&J’s record to 3-1 in the league and 5-7-1 overall. Saint Vincent is 0-4-1, 1-12-1.

Field hockey

Nica Schratz scored three goals to power Peters Township to a 5-0 shutout of Fox Chapel. Lexi Lawrence and Cassidy King scored the other goals for PT, which finished in first place in Division I. The Indians’ strong defense did not allow a goal in nine section contests.
