Stella M. Lesniakowski

Stella M. Lesniakowski, 101, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 21, 2018, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.

She was born February 28, 1917, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette Plezia Czarnecki.

Mrs. Lesniakowski lived her entire life in Canonsburg, where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and the former St. Genevieve Church.

She was a homemaker, who was an excellent cook and baker, always giving people something, especially her noodles and pierogies. Stella loved her children and grandchildren, polka music and her garden. She had been a member of Orchard Lake Society at St. Genevieve’s.

On July 2, 1938, she married Ernest Lesniakowski, who passed away October 21, 1993.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her three beloved daughters, Anita L. Marcischak of Houston, Carrie J. Casciola of Canonsburg and Kimberly A. Comfort and husband Tony of Washington; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Marcischak, Jackie Hinerman, Randy Casciola, Colleen Labishak, Amy Walters and Zachary and Karlie Comfort; five great-grandchildren, Nicole and Jacob Marcischak, Tyler and Kyle Hinerman and Christopher Labishak; a great-great-granddaughter, Briella Gagliardi; brother Ted Czarnecki of Cleveland, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two sisters, Anna Marosz and Sophie Knight; six brothers, Stanley, Joseph, John, Eugene, Leonard and Edward Czarnecki; two sons-in-law, Jerry Marcischak and Wayne Casciola; and a great-granddaughter, Sarah L. Marcischak.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, Darla Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 26. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Lesniakowski’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
