DEP awards two clean energy grants in Washington County

The state Department of Environmental Protection Thursday awarded more than $2.6 million in grant funding for 16 clean energy vehicle projects statewide.

Two are in Washington County – $300,000 to Waste Management to purchase eight compressed natural gas vehicles, saving more than 68,500 gasoline gallon equivalents per year; and $76,000 to Monark Student Transportation to purchase eight propane school buses, saving more than 22,800 gasoline gallon equivalents per year.
