Thomas A. Legeza Sr., 70, of Monongahela, Forward Township, died Thursday, November 29, 2018, in his home.

Born June 11, 1948, in Monongahela, he was a son of Andrew and Julia Kepics Legeza.

After his graduation in 1966 from Elizabeth Forward High School, Tom attended Gateway Technical Institute for drafting. He then served 6 years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed mainly in Cologne, Germany.

After he was discharged, Tom worked for a short time at the former Ligget Spring and Axle Co. until a fire forced it to close. Then, with his good friend, Frank “Shine” Massari, he opened Outhouse Bar in Monongahela until selling it in 1985. He then went to work for his lifelong friend, Nino Pansino, at V.C.S.I. Vending Co. until his retirement in December 2012.

Tom was a member of Carroll Township American Legion 949 and Hey Andy’s “Coffee Club” in Monongahela.

Surviving are his wife, Shari Crouch Legeza, whom he married June 9, 2001; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Jr. and Amy Legeza of Smock; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Ted Oshie of Derry Township and Lindsay and Mark Podroskey of Carroll Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Ruth Legeza of Monongahela (River Hill); and a sister, Andrea Spaziani of Elmwood Park, N.J.; six grandchildren, Anthony and Anna Oshie, Max and Mia Legeza and Dylan and Alexander Podroskey; nieces; nephews; and many good friends, whom he considered family.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 3, with Father Vincent Gigliotti officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery with military honors conducted by Mon-Valley Honor and Firing Squad.
