Clara H. Mihalics, 92, of McDonald, North Fayette Township, died Thursday, November 1, 2018.
She was born June 16, 1926, a daughter of Albert and Clara Berbach Herbst.
On July 29, 1950, she married Michael Mihalics, who died August 3, 1984.
Mrs. Mihalics was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church. She was a lifelong seamstress, an avid baker and cook. She was a blanketeer for Project Linus, where she made over 3,000 quilts and afghans for traumatized children.
Surviving are six children, Marie (Robert) Clark of Bethel Park, Robert (Janet) Mihalics of Wexford, Catherine (James) Hockenberger of Imperial, Margaret “Peggy” (Scott) Weitzel of McDonald, Linda (John) Bakke of Monaca and Patricia Mihalics of McDonald; and four grandchildren, Olivia (Esteban) Saldi and Brian, Angela and Anthony Bakke.
Deceased are three brothers, Walter, Thomas and John Herbst.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 4, in St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald, at a time to be announced. Check www.nationfuneralhome.com for the final schedule.
