Penn State Extension will offer Cooking for Crowds: A Volunteers Guide to Safe Food Handling from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 17, for those holding food fundraisers or serving/selling food to the public. The class will be held at the James Farrell American Legion Post 330, 376 E. High Street, Waynesburg. Learn up-to-date methods for preparing food for large groups that is safe and of high quality. A square dance, including line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more, will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Center Township Fire Hall in Rogersville. Caller will be Dave Dahl. This will be the last square dance until spring. Food and drinks will be served beginning at 6:30. Cost is $7 for adults, $10 per couple or $5 for kids ages 12-18. Beginners welcome.
