Verina L. Bennett, 78, of Claysville, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

She was born December 3, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late Charles McMasters.

Mrs. Bennett was a retired private-duty caregiver. She enjoyed traveling and watching her favorite television shows.

Deceased is her husband, Roland Earritt Bennett, who died July 17, 1985.

Surviving are four children, Robert E. Bennett of Claysville, Kenny Bennett of Washington, Elizabeth A. Pensis of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Earritt Bennett (Mitzie) of Washington; three grandchildren, Heather Bennett, Mayli Bennett and Layni Bennett; two great-granddaughters; and her companion, Charles H. Yater, with whom she shared a home.

The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 26, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services and burial in Washington Cemetery will be private.
