Betty L. Redd

Betty L. Redd, 85, of Fredericktown, formerly of Jefferson, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

She was born March 27, 1933, in Washington, a daughter of the late Emma Gray and Joseph Caldwell.

She worked at Hazel Atlas Glass and then as a cook for many years at Century Inn, Scenery Hill. She also worked at Colonial Manor in Bentleyville and McDaniels Nursing Home.

She enjoyed cooking and crafts.

On June 26, 1952, she married Edgar Marion Redd, who is deceased.

She is survived by five children, Edgar (Carol) Redd of Humble, Texas, Bill (Bobbie) Redd of Claysville, Beverly (David) Crow of Fredericktown, Marianne (Dave) Mason of Brownsville and Joe (Laurel) Redd of Marianna; a sister, Thelma Sanney of Claysville; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, Keith Redd; three grandsons, Scott Redd, Leonard Rose III and Eric Corbly; three brothers; two sisters; and a friend, Ray Woods.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, with Pastor Tim Lindsay officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery.
