Harry W. Moore

Harry W. Moore, 92, of Whitehall, formerly of Castle Shannon, passed away peacefully Friday, November 2, 2018, in Jefferson Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of 69 years to Jean Moore; loving father of Bob (Patti) Moore and Donna (Nick) Nardine; cherished grandfather of Stephanie (Ryan) Miller, Julie (Coop) Dzanaj, Michael (Angela) Nardini, Amy (Will) Chapman and Greg (Emily) Nardine; and special great-grandfather of Alexis, Gianna, Cooper, Lucy, Claire, Nora, Dean, Kali, Kate, Max, Delaney and Niko.

Harry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Montpelier, from the Solomons through the Marianas, the Philippines, Nansei Shoto and into Japan to Hiroshima, the first city to be atomized.

Harry worked for Mesta Machine for 33 years as a pattern maker and supervisor.

His passion was playing golf at South Park and many others. Harry and Jean enjoyed many trips across the United States and around the world. Over the last few years, Harry enjoyed meeting new friends at Healthtrax Fitness and Wellness Club in Bethel Park.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, in St. Winifred Church, 550 Sleepy Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228. All are asked to meet at the church Tuesday. Interment with full military honors will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
