The Western Pennsylvania Division of the Salvation Army recently welcomed Major Raphael Jackson and Major Sandra Jackson as new divisional leaders.

The Jacksons came to Pittsburgh from their appointment as the divisional leaders of the Northern New England Division, which encompasses Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Raphael Jackson was born in the Bronx, New York, and Sandra Jackson grew up in Maine. Together, they have served in New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and Eastern Pennsylvania.

The Jacksons succeed Deborah Sedlar, who was appointed to executive secretary to the general at the Salvation Army’s international headquarters in London, England, and promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel.

The Western Pennsylvania Division of the Salvation Army has been part of the Christian Associates since 1970.

Raphael Jackson will continue as the council’s appointee to the board of directors of Christian Associates’ partner in ministry, the Foundation of HOPE.
