Felix Tatar, 90, of Finleyville, died Friday, November 2, 2018, in Mt. Vernon of South Park.
He was born March 31, 1928, in Finleyville, a son of the late Jacob and Anna Bircsak Tatar.
Felix was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville.
He retired from Mathies Coal Co. in Finleyville, after 37 years of employment. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America and Ginger Hill Grange.
Felix was active in the senior citizens Showboat Variety Show in Monongahela. He and his wife, Bonnie, enjoyed dancing, especially at Carroll American Legion and Center in the Woods, California.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi “Bonnie” McNaughton Tatar, with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage September 11; son Gerald Tatar Ph.D. and wife Deborah of Carnegie; four daughters, Beverly Wilson and husband Don of Bentleyville, Jone Gerba and husband Gerald of Monongahela, Phyllis Cain and husband Richard of Massachusetts and Kathleen Renton and husband Terry of Virginia; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are six brothers, John, Andy, Walter, Stanley, Joe and Jim Tatar, and sister Victoria Miller.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 8, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville. Committal services and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
