George P. Cindrich

George P. Cindrich, 81, of Canonsburg, formerly of Marianna, died Friday, December 14, 2018, in Canonsburg Hospital.

He was born April 3, 1937, in Republic, to the late Anthony and Agnes Benic Cindrich.

He was a 1955 graduate of Redstone High School. George was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 through 1958.

He worked as a chemical mixer for General Electric in Cleveland, Ohio, for 28 years, and later worked at Vesta 5 Coal Mine for nine years.

He liked to garden and enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing and going to the casino.

He married Rose Kovach on October 12, 1957, sharing over 61 years of marriage.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Cindrich; two children, daughter Debbi Cindrich of Canonsburg and son Dave Cindrich of Westlake, Ohio; three grandchildren, Matthew Rendulic, Mark Rendulic and Joshua Larkin; two brothers, Joe Cindrich of Menlo Park, Calif., and Paul Cindrich of Brandon, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three sisters, Kay Kasmarcak, Ann Chromey and Mary Alice Lapsevich, and brother Mike Cindrich.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of a funeral service, Tuesday, December 18, in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Pastor Tim Lindsay officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
