James Leon Foley, 66, of Daybrook, W.Va., died Friday, December 28, 2018, in his home.
He was born January 4, 1952, in Daybrook, a son of the late Thelma Simpson Foley.
Jim was a retired coal miner, having last worked at the prep plant. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America District 31 of Fairmont, W.Va. He was a 1969 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Patricia Diane Kennedy Foley; two sons and their spouses, James L. “Jimmie” Foley Jr. and wife Candy of Daybrook and Roger Foley of Daybrook; a daughter, Joanie Lynn Foley of Daybrook; two brothers, Orville “Bud” Foley of Fairview, W.Va., and Wayne Foley of Pentress, W.Va.; two sisters, Imogene Harkins of Waynesburg and Kay Lennett of Daleville, Ala.; four grandsons, James Foley, Austin Foley, Ethan Foley and Levi Foley; and three granddaughters.
In addition to his mother, deceased are two sisters, Norma “Sis” Clark and Ruby Mudgrag, and two brothers, Robert “Bob” Foley and Raymond “Punk” Foley.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Owen-Neely Funeral Home, Blacksville, W.Va., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, with Pastor Jerry Teter officiating. Interment will follow in Daybrook Cemetery.
