Resonance Works expands its holiday tradition this year with A Joyous Sound! Performances are 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at Third Presbyterian Church in Shadyside. The family-friendly concerts will be under 90 minutes with no intermission, and there will be goodies from Sweet Bites Cookies for all. Zone seating is offered, with tickets starting at $25. At The Church of the Atonement, Episcopal in Carnegie, a Blue Christmas Healing Service with a Celebration of the Holy Eucharist will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. All who are in need of healing – to receive intentional prayers for their body, mind, and spirit – are encouraged to attend. Private requests for healing are responded to with discretion and respect. The Bethel Art Guild will meet on Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Bethel Park Community Center located at 5151 Park Avenue. After a 12:30 p.m. business meeting, professional artist Jack Puglisi will discuss and give a demonstration of his primary medium, Pen and Ink.
Two holiday events will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road, Bethel Park. Breakfast with Santa featuring pancakes will be held in the Christian Life Center at the church. Cost is a donation. Proceeds benefit Round Table Ministries. A cookie sale will be held in the Community Square at the church. Home-baked cookies will be sold for $8 per pound and Rada Cutlery will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit United Methodist Women mission projects.
FISH (Faithful in Serving Him) Clan Youth Group will meet from 1:11 to 3:33 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at Fort Burd Presbyterian Church, Route 166/200 Thornton Road, Brownsville. This free, once-a-month ecumenical ministry is hosted by various congregations in the Brownville Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) and led by volunteers. It is open to all youth ages 11-17. Bentworth Ministerium Community Choir will share its Christmas Cantata “Journey of a King” at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Christian Assembly of God Church, 100 Meadow St., Bentleyville. This is a free event.
The Bible Chapel in McMurray will present two performances of “A Pittsburgh Irish Christmas,” at 3 and 6 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 9. There will be Christmas carol sing-a-longs, fiddlers, orchestra, choir and soloists. Childcare is available for children age birth to 2 years old, but online registration is required at biblechapel.org. The concerts are free.
