Ann T. Smith, 59, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018, in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.

She was born December 21, 1958, in New Eagle, a daughter of Dorothy McCallister Condie of Monongahela and the late Frank Cappaccione.

Ann was a 1976 graduate of Ringgold High School and was very active with the class reunion committee. While she was still in high school and after graduation, she was a waitress at Hills Restaurant in New Eagle. She then attended Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in Monessen, where she became a licensed cosmetologist and privately cut hair for many years throughout the Mon Valley area. Ann was a co-owner of Hacker Shack Computers in Monongahela until 2004, when she opened her own business, A Little Off the Top, in Donora. She decided to move her business to Monongahela, operating Ann Smith’s A Little Off the Top until 2017, when she sold the shop.

For many years, she was an active participant in the New Eagle Community Action Group. Ann enjoyed playing pool in a league at Tim’s Corner Bar in West Elizabeth, as well as bowling at Brunswick Lanes in a mixed couples league with her husband, Roger. Ann will sadly be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Edwin Smith, with whom she celebrated 38 years of marriage August 9; son Jason Roger and wife Jennifer Smith of West Newton; daughter Samantha Ann Smith of Monongahela; stepdaughter Diana Smith of Monongahela; two grandchildren, Emma and Joseph Smith; and three step-grandchildren, Jacob, Dillon and Brandon Barnhart.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 9, with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating.
