William Neil “Bill” Barnhart, 60, of Beallsville, lost his hard-fought three-year battle with lung cancer Saturday, December 1, 2018, in his home.

He was born November 11, 1958, in Washington Hospital, to Leila J. Barnhart, who survives in the family home, and the late Charles W. Barnhart.

Mr. Barnhart was a 1976 graduate of Trinity High School. He was a laborer with Therm-O-Rock East in New Eagle from 2002 to 2015.

Mr. Barnhart loved spending time with his girlfriend of seven-and-a-half years, Brenda Ferrari, as well as with his family. His greatest pride and joy was his 1957 Chevy truck that he restored himself over time, in all types of weather. He loved attending car shows, at which he won several awards for all the hard work he put in to his “baby,” as he so often referred to his truck. Mr. Barnhart not only designed the unique paint job of flames and metal flake, he painted it himself, making it an original, of which he was very proud.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, Leila Barnhart, and girlfriend, Brenda Ferrari, are his only sister, Lisa A. Barnhart of Beallsville, with whom he resided; his only brother, Randy G. Barnhart of Prosperity; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his father, are his grandparents, Elizabeth and Charles Pettit and Anna and John Barnhart; two uncles, Joseph and James Barnhart; and cousins Tony Hupp, Gary Hupp and Lorraine Barnhart.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 5. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
