Naomi V. Wood

Naomi V. Wood, age 96, of Washington passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Hawthorne Woods in Washington.

She was born August 1, 1922 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late George and Mae Edgar Moore.

On December 26, 1941, she married Charles V. Wood, who passed away December 2, 1979.

Naomi retired from Greene County Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a licensed practical nurse for 31 years.

She was a former resident of Ruff Creek and Waynesburg. She lived in Washington since 1990.

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek.

Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Fausak of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sons, Robert Wood (Kathy) of Troy, Texas, and Lonnie Wood (Patty) of Scenery Hill; five grandchildren, Deborah Waltrip, Robert Wood Jr., Robin Karnes, Eric Danley and Brandon Wood; five great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Yvonne Frost of Lorain, Ohio; and a brother, Earl Moore of Rochester, N.Y.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are three brothers, Edgar Moore, Robert Moore and Donald Moore; six sisters, Martha Moore, Mary Delaney, Jane Lewis, Jean Fordyce, Bonnie Wood and Ruth McMillin; three stepsons, Clyde, Glenn and Donald Moore; three stepdaughters, Dorothy and Elizabeth Cox and Evelyn Hackney.

Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, with the Rev. Frank Lewis officiating followed by interment in Oakmont Cemetery.
