BENTLEYVILLE
Trespass charge: Moses Elbert Harris, 34, of 219 McKean Ave., Charleroi, was charged by Bentleyville police with giving false identification to law enforcement, defiant trespass and public drunkenness after two different local bars asked him to leave Saturday night. Police said they found Harris “staggering” and “creeping between the backyards” of the Bentleyville Apartments on Old West Road, just before 10 p.m. Police said Harris had been kicked out of the Black Angus and the Bentleyville Tavern and was “highly intoxicated.” Police said Harris, who is not permitted on the apartments’ property, gave police a false name. Harris also had three criminal warrants and eight magistrate warrants, police said.
MONESSEN
Man jailed: Donovan L. Piccolo, 37, of 419 Oneida St. Rear, Monessen, is charged by city police with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief, court records show. Police accuse Piccolo of assaulting a woman over two days in his residence until a friend of the alleged victim summoned police about 10 p.m. Dec. 30. Piccolo was placed in Westmoreland County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Assault alleged: Teon D. Stitch, 25, of 10 Reed Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with strangulation, making terroristic threats, harassment and simple assault stemming from alleged domestic violence on the evening of Dec. 24 in the 500 block of Park Manor Road, court records show. A senior district judge in Monessen issued the charges in a summons last week.
NORTH FRANKLIN
Retail theft: State police responded to Ulta Beauty at Washington Crown Center mall about 8 p.m. Saturday for the report of a theft. Police said two women entered the store, put several items in a shopping bag and met up with a third woman before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise.
PETERS
Ohio woman charged: Township police filed a theft charge against Kim Power, 55, of Akron, Ohio, on Monday. Authorities say Power made an agreement with a local woman to care for the woman’s son for a week. Police say she didn’t provide the services, then allegedly failed to return a total of $970 the mother paid Power for her time and to cover expenses. The charge was filed by summons at District Judge Jesse Pettit’s office.
Assault charge: Township police filed a simple assault charge and summary harassment citation on Monday against Kenny A. Wiley, 41, of West Brownsville. Police said Wiley allegedly punched a former coworker in the side of the face while the person was sitting in his truck at a construction site at Wellington Circle. The case was filed by summons at District Judge Jesse Pettit’s office.
Obstructing highways charge: Jason Ballard Feeney, 45, of Georgia, was charged by Peters Township police with obstructing highways and three traffic summary violations after he allegedly unloaded new vehicles from a car carrier into the center turn lane of state Route 19 Dec. 5. Police said they responded about 7 a.m. to the 3300 block of Washington Road and saw that Feeney had one vehicle left on the carrier. Police said they advised Feeney that he was not permitted to unload vehicles in the middle of a highway and that he should unload the last one in a nearby parking lot. Feeney allegedly told police “that was not going to happen,” according to the criminal complaint. Police said Feeney proceeded to unload the last car in the middle of the road.
ROSTRAVER
Gun charge: Daniel Wood Hixson, 40, of 108 Fourth St., West Newton, is charged with possessing a firearm without a license when he crashed his motorcycle about 10:10 p.m. Nov. 25 on Route 201 north near Finley Road, court records show. A senior district judge in Monessen issued the charge Friday in a summons.
Thefts alleged: Denise S. Yonkers, 66, of 111 Main St., New Eagle, is charged by township police with theft and receiving stolen property over allegations she stole $561 through fraudulent returns while working at Rite Aid, 843 Rostraver Road, between Oct. 10 and Dec. 3, court records show. Senior District Judge Herbert Mitchell issued the charges last week in a summons.
SMITH
Assault alleged: Clifford Eugene Bennett Jr., 28, of 219 Charles St., Langeloth, was charged by Smith Township police with simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct following a fight at his residence about 5:45 p.m. Monday. Police said the alleged victim, Joseph Keating, reportedly tried to intervene in an argument between Bennett and Bennett’s girlfriend. Bennett then allegedly punched Keating in the face and body about 20 times, giving him a bloody lip and cut and swollen eye. Police said that when they tried to arrest Bennett, he resisted. Police said that with the help of Bennett’s brother, they were able to handcuff Bennett.
