James W. Ott
James W. Ott, 75, of Scenery Hill, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born September 8, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James G. and Cathleen Scott Ott.
Mr. Ott was a 1961 graduate of South Vocational High School and attended Alliance College.
He was an electrician for NESTA machine in Homestead for 19 years and later for Union Electric Steel in Carnegie for 22 years before his retirement in 2005.
James was a 35-year active member of Scenery Hill United Methodist Church, a member of Scenery Hill Lions Club, where he served as Past President, and a member of Washington Coin Club.
He also volunteered as an electrician working on the trolley cars at Arden Trolley Museum and was a host family for the Washington Wild Things Baseball Team.
On June 15, 1963, he married Geraldine “Gerry” Hall Ott, who survives. They celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jeffrey B. Ott (Dolores) of Perryopolis; two brothers, Gary Ott of Pittsburgh and Jack Ott (Coleen) of Brookline; a sister, Patty Risbon, also of Brookline; daughter-in-law Michelle R. Ott; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Puckey (Amanda), Danielle Ott, James Ott (Samantha), Michael Ott, David Ott, Dana Boyle (Shawn) and Aidan Drilak; five great-grandchildren, Austin Ott, Isabella Dempsey, Landon Puckey, Kiera and Rylan Boyle; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, James G. Ott, and two brothers, Larry and Marty Ott.
Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10.
