CANONSBURG

Carbon monoxide: Canonsburg police and firefighters responded to a residence on East Pitt Street Sunday morning after a man complained of chest pains. Police said tests showed he had carbon monoxide in his system. The fire department was able to trace it to a hot-water tank in the basement of his residence. The heater was turned off and “red tagged,” police said.

NORTH STRABANE

One hurt: A truck driven by Austin Shore, 22, of Avella, hit the rear of a sport-utility vehicle driven by Kirk Spargal, 55, of Finleyville, just before 2 a.m. Saturday on Meadows Drive, North Strabane police said. A passenger in Spargal’s vehicle, David Arkovich, 32, of Belle Vernon, was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment of a minor injury. Shore was given a breath test by police.
