Veronica Marie Schmidt graduated in August from Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. She then furthered her military career with Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, where she graduated as a heavy construction equipment repairer (91L). She is now a member of the United States Army Ordnance Corps. Veronica is a 2018 graduate of McGuffey High School, and will attend Pittsburgh Technical College in April, where she will be working toward her Associate of Science degree in Nursing. PTC awarded her with a $3,000 STEM scholarship, and for completing her military training Veronica will be able to pay for her entire tuition.
