Avella 61, Mapletown 45: Bess Lengauer scored a game-high 23 points to lead Avella past Mapletown, 61-45, in a Section 2-A game.
The Eagles (4-1, 9-3), who trailed 25-24 at halftime, also got 14 points from Jordan Rush.
Mapletown (2-3, 5-6), which was outscored, 22-6, in the third quarter, was paced by Taylor Dusenberry’s 11 points and Abby Antill’s 10.
Peters Township 64, Mt. Lebanon 36: Makenna Marisa and Isabella Mills combined for 40 points at Peters Township routed Mt. Lebanon, 64-36, in a Section 2 game in Class 6A.
Marisa led the way with 21 points Mills 19 for the Indians (5-0, 10-0), who led 41-20 at halftime. Journey Thompson chipped in with 10 points and Mills had 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Mt. Lebanon fell to 4-2 and 5-7.
McGuffey 41, Waynesburg 24: McGuffey outscored Waynesburg, 30-15, in the second half to take a 41-24 victory in a Section 2 game in Class 3A.
Cassie Darrell led the Highlanders (2-5, 4-8) with 12 points and Keira Nicolella added 10 points.
CP Miller was high scorer for Waynesburg (1-5, 4-8) with 12 points.
Bethel Park 42, Canon-McMillan 38: Maria Cerra sank three free throws in the final 30 seconds to complete Bethel Park’s comeback against Canon-McMillan and seal a 42-38 victory in a Section 2 game in Class 6A.
The Big Macs led 33-28 after three quarters but were outscored 14-5 in the fourth quarter.
Olivia Westphal tossed in 14 points for Bethel Park and Cerra finished with 11 points.
Canon-McMillan was paced by Lacey Russell’s 11 points and Tamara Mathis’ 10 points.
Trinity 62, Lincoln Park 42: Ashley Durig hit two key three-point field goals to help Trinity pull away in the fourth quarter of a 62-42 victory over Lincoln Park in a Section 1 game in Class 5A.
Trinity (5-1, 7-5) led 42-35 after three quarters but outscored Lincoln Park, 20-7, in the fourth quarter.
Durig finished with 13 points and four came on three-point field goals. Julia Chakos led Trinity with 16 points. Kaylin Venick totaled 13 points and Courtney Dahlquist finished with 11 points.
Sydney Cook scored 18 points for Lincoln Park (1-5, 4-7).
